I see which brands' lab reports are broken before they do.
My wife and I run Rad Dad Alternative: two stores in Baton Rouge and an online shop, stocking more than fifty brands. Every product needs a current certificate of analysis, the lab report for the batch a customer is actually holding. Brands reissue those with every batch. So the link on a product page goes stale the moment a brand tests again, and the PDF a brand sent last spring is not the one an inspector wants today.
I found those things because customers and inspectors asked me first. The brand usually did not know. Their reports lived in a folder and on a page somebody updated by hand. Nobody was checking, because checking is a job, and nobody had it.
rd Relay is that job, done for the brand. Forward us the lab's email. We match the report to the right product, size and batch, host it behind one permanent link per product, keep every older batch at its own link, and tell you what is missing. Log in whenever you like. You never need to.
What it holds
- The lab report, matched. Each document is tied to the product, size and batch it names, confirmed by a person, and served from one link per product that never changes. Older batches keep their own links and stay findable by batch number.
- The record that proves it. Every publish, replacement, view and recall is logged with a timestamp. What was current on a given date is a matter of record.
- The things you need in a hurry.If a batch is pulled, its link serves the notice instead of the document. For stores and distributors, every account's permits sit on one board with alerts that start 60 days out.
What it looks like in practice
A shopper opens the lab-results link on a product page and gets the report for that batch. An inspector scans the label and gets the same one. A buyer types last spring's batch number into the brand's page and gets last spring's report. The brand did none of that; it forwarded an email.
We do not grade the results. The lab's document is the document. We keep it correct, current and where people look.
